Crescent Township has the responsibility of maintaining approximately 10 miles of Township roads. The road system is continually improved with at least one contracted project annually plus any maintenance needed done by the department of public works. Residents should be aware that Township roads have anywhere between a 30 to 50 foot right-of-way. Fences, trees, shrubs, decorations, planters, etc. should not be placed within the Township’s right of way, as it is necessary for our public works department to perform snow removal effectively and maintain proper drainage.

Some other things you should know:

Garbage Collection- Garbage pickup day will be Thursdays.  Garbage Collection during Holidays (New Years Day, Memorial Day, the 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas) will be one day later.

Trees and Shrubs Along Road Right of Way- Every property owner is responsible to maintain privately owned trees and shrubs encroaching or overhanging any street right-of-way so as not to obstruct the view or usage of any street right-of-way. Any property owner with a tree, bush, shrub or hedge planted within or abutting a right-of-way shall trim such trees, bushes, shrubs and hedges so as not to obstruct the view or use of any public road or property.

Grass and Weeds- All premises and exterior properties shall be maintained free from weeds or plant growth in excess of 6 inches.  All noxious weeds shall be prohibited. Weeds shall be defined as all grasses, annual plants and vegetation, other than trees or shrubs provided; however, this term shall not include cultivated flowers and gardens.
